I woke up coughing and fighting for my life
My mother ran in grabbing my sister’s and I
As we watched flames consume all we had in this life

I thought my father had met his demise
Til I saw him come tearing down that gravel drive
He stumbled out to greet us, but to my surprise
My mother wouldn’t look him in the eye

He poured another round of Brandy, as he turns to look right through me

The one you went to for business, but somehow were never paid
